In a call with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Erdogan urged an end to indiscriminate attacks on Palestinian territories, expressing concern about the impact on Gaza’s population and calling for de-escalation.
Erdogan also called on all parties, including Hamas, to adhere to ethical standards in warfare. He engaged with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati in diplomatic efforts to alleviate the crisis.
During a subsequent press conference, Erdogan called for an immediate halt to rocket attacks on Israeli cities and harassment of Israeli civilians, emphasizing the importance of ethical conduct in times of war.
Erdogan, a consistent supporter of the Palestinian cause, reiterated his willingness to mediate if both sides request Turkey’s involvement.
