In a move to ease the burden on the public due to inflation, the interim government has lowered the price of petrol by Rs40 per liter and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs15 for the next two weeks, as per the Ministry of Finance’s notification. The revised prices, effective from tonight until October 31, are set at Rs283.38 for petrol and Rs303.18 for HSD.
Furthermore, the government has also reduced the prices of light diesel by Rs19.59 per liter and kerosene oil by Rs22.43, with kerosene oil now priced at Rs214.85 per liter.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, the interim government has applied a zero general sales tax (GST) on all petroleum products, while the petroleum levy (PL) on petrol stands at Rs60 per liter. To boost revenue for this fiscal year, the authorities have increased the levy on diesel by Rs5 to Rs55 per liter.
