Jemima Goldsmith celebrates multiple wins at UK National Film Awards. Jemima Goldsmith’s latest film “What’s Love Got to Do with It?” triumphs at prestigious UK National Film Awards, securing four major accolades.

The film stars Pakistani actress Sajal Aly, marking her Hollywood debut, and features a stellar cast including Jemima Goldsmith herself and veteran Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi.

This rom-com captivated audiences with its exceptional direction and performances, earning Shekhar Kapur four significant awards and showcasing his cinematic talent.

Expressing her happiness on Twitter, Jemima shared the news, stating, “No one likes a show-off. But…we won four awards for our film last night, and I felt so grateful and happy.” She listed the wins as Best Screenplay, Best British Film, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor, expressing gratitude to the entire team.

The film has received notable recognition, boasting an impressive ensemble cast including Sajal Aly, Shazad Latif, Shabana Azmi, Emma Thompson, and a special cameo appearance by music legend Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

With nominations in nine categories, the movie explores the complexities of love and marriage across different cultures, captivating both viewers and critics alike. Jemima’s nomination for Best Screenplay showcases her talent as a writer and producer. “What’s Love Got to Do with It?” received nominations for Best British Film, Best Director (Shekhar), Best Screenplay (Jemima), and Best Actress (Lily James).

The 9th annual National Film Awards, presented by the esteemed National Film Academy of the United Kingdom, announced these nominees in May. Shekhar received numerous congratulations on social media, including well wishes from Manoj Bajpayee, who had previously collaborated with him on the acclaimed film “Bandit Queen” in 1994. In 2021, Jemima distanced herself from “The Crown” following its portrayal of Diana’s story.
