On Saturday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif participated in the inauguration ceremony of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, Turkey, along with other world leaders.
During the event, PM Shehbaz conveyed sincere congratulations to President Erdogan on his re-election as the President of Turkey on behalf of the Pakistani government and people. He wished him continued success in his role.
In addition to his well wishes, PM Shehbaz presented a special gift to President Erdogan and informed him about its significance during their brief conversation. He mentioned that he brought Pakistani mangoes, half of which were for President Erdogan and the remaining half for First Lady Emine Erdogan.
President Erdogan and his wife warmly received PM Shehbaz’s gesture and expressed their familiarity with the taste and sweetness of Pakistani mangoes. Emine also thanked the Prime Minister for the fruit, while President Erdogan appreciated PM Shehbaz for accepting his invitation and attending the inauguration ceremony.
Pakistan and Turkey share a longstanding relationship that goes beyond time and geography. The two countries have consistently supported each other in times of need and celebrated each other’s successes.
President Erdogan expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister, reciprocated the warm sentiments, and extended his best wishes to the government and people of Pakistan.
Following his victory in a historic runoff election, President Erdogan took the oath of office in parliament and pledged to serve impartially, extending his rule that has lasted for two decades.
